Pearce Statement Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

Sep 27, 2012

Las Cruces, NM (September 27, 2012) – Today, Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month:

“I join with my fellow New Mexicans in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. New Mexico’s rich culture of faith, family, hard work, and integrity has been heavily shaped and influenced by our Hispanic heritage.  I am honored to represent a state so closely associated with the past, present, and future or our nation’s Hispanic population.  And, I am proud to call New Mexico my home—a place where diverse cultures have worked together, learned from each other, and grown together for centuries.  New Mexicans truly have much to celebrate this month.”

National Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized as the month from September 15 to October 15.  It was signed into law by President Reagan on August 17, 1988.
