PEARCE VOTES FOR FAA AUTHORIZATION
Washington, DC (February 3, 2012) Today, Congressman Steve Pearce voted for H.R. 658, the FAA Modernization and Reform Act. The legislation will provide more long term stability to the aviation industry and will not raise passenger facility charges (PFCs) or taxes.
“The FAA provides millions of jobs, contributes approximately $1.3 trillion to our national GDP, and provides safety and transportation opportunities to people across America,” said Pearce. “In voting for this authorization, the House continued our dedication to cutting spending. This report authorizes the FAA $1 billion per year less than the Senate’s proposal, yet still provides long-term stability and allows for job growth within the aviation industry. The report also limits unnecessary regulations on the aviation industry, which will create jobs, growing our economy and working to restore America to economic security.”
“The FAA authorization report will include major infrastructure improvements and a new air traffic control system, which will reform and improve the aviation industry,” Pearce continued. “These efforts to create jobs and increase public safety will also provide stability and direction for the aviation industry through fiscal year 2015. These measures have received bipartisan support and will help us to put Americans back to work.”
The House of Representatives passed H.R. 658 today.
