PEARCE VOTES TO RECOGNIZE VIETNAM MEMORIAL DONORS

May 6, 2013 Issues: Veterans

Washington, DC (May 6, 2013) – Today, U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce voted in favor of H.R. 588, the Vietnam Veterans Donor Acknowledgement Act of 2013.

“Honoring and remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice is a central American tradition,” said Pearce.  “As a Vietnam veteran, and as a Member of Congress who has been involved with this legislation since its inception, I am proud today to be a member of the House of Representatives.  The Wall is one of America’s most powerful memorials.  The addition of the visitors center will not only continue to memorialize those lost during the Vietnam War through photographs and a collection of items placed at the wall, but it will also serve as a place to teach younger generations of the sacrifices made by generations who came before them.  I am proud to recognize those who support this center.”

Pearce, himself a Vietnam Veteran, was an original cosponsor of H.R. 588.
